All we need is love…Part 1

Love NEVER fails!

It’s a fundamental Truth that has taken me a while to really fully believe – but now I know beyond a shadow of doubt that it is true.

I used to read that section in the Bible where Jesus says that we’re to ‘turn the other cheek when someone strikes us and pray for our enemies’ and, like probably most of the world, I’d think ‘Yeah, right!’

But one day I decided I was going to give this a try after reading an amazing story in Stephen Covey’s ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’. Stephen was on the subway early on a Sunday morning and the atmosphere was peaceful and calm. At one of the stops, a man and several children entered their coach and the tranquil atmosphere was instantly shattered. The kids ran up and down shouting and misbehaving, whilst the man sat down next to Stephen and just seemed to completely ignore them and let them run riot. Stephen calmly asked the man why he wasn’t doing anything and could he please try and calm his kids down. The man looked up at him with a rather vacant expression in his eyes and said “I’m sorry Mister but my wife, their Mom, has just died and I don’t quite know how to handle it and I guess they don’t either.”

What matters most is how you see yourself!

What matters most is how you see yourself! The caption says it all.

It is the way we really see ourselves, what we truly believe about ourselves and the way those beliefs manifest themselves that determine our experience of life.

Have a deep look at your life.

See what both the negative and positive recurring patterns are. These patterns are based on deep seated beliefs that you have about yourself and your circumstances. If you want to change them you are going to need to find the lie you’re believing and replace it with the Truth. Replace it with what you want to become your new recurring pattern.

1) Specify what you DON’T want

2) Specify what you DO want

3) Determine what the deep seated belief is

4) Renounce the old belief (what you don’t want) and replace it with the Truth (what you do want)

5) Let ot go and trust that God will work it all out.

Just Being You

Francesco Marino /

Phew…sometimes it’s really difficult just being yourself.

There are so many factors that can influence the way we behave and it all makes us wonder if we truly know who we are underneath all the layers.

One of the best ways I have found to get back to the ‘real’ me, is to take a walk in a garden or a park – some green space where I can connect to nature and to God. It’s the place where I don’t have to pretend or put on a  mask and you know what - it’s the most freeing place to be – at home with the ‘real’ you!

Find the way to connect to your true self and feel the smile come back to your face again.
