Ever heard it said that ‘Laughter is the Best Medicine’? Humour and laughter have amazing benefits such as strengthening your immune system, boosting your energy levels, diminishing pain, and protecting you from the damaging effects of stress. The wonderful thing is that this ‘medicine’ is fun, free, and… doesn’t taste bad.

Sometimes life can become very ‘heavy’. We’re weighed down by all the day to day stresses that are common to us all. So, sometimes we actually have to make ourselves step out of the cycle and do something about our state of mind.

Each of us has fun in different ways. In our household, we like to sit together at night and talk about our day and inevitably a funny story will come up and we wall add our little bits of imagination to it and generally end up crying with laughter.

For others it’s playing sport or doing outdoor activities that they enjoy. We live over the road from a huge park and I see lots of families playing soccer or cricket and having picnics together.

Whichever way you and your family like to have fun together, make sure you do. Laugh and make precious memories.

I recently heard a testimonial of a lady who was diagnosed with Cancer. Her and her family decided to fill her life with laughter. They purposely only watched comedy on TV. She listened to comedy all day long on the radio and immersed herself in ‘feel good’ surroundings. She was cured without any surgery or chemotherapy!

· Carve time out to have fun in your life. Plan activities, rent movies, play games.

· Make it an integral part of your family life. A life of shared laughter will be a treasured memory for both you and your kids.

· Belly laugh until you’re crying! Often!
